Drive player growth & build the commercial offerConnect, shape and influence the Canterbury cricket communityAbout the Association:Cricket is New Zealand's premier summer sport and the Canterbury Cricket Association, formed in 1877, is one of six major New Zealand cricket associations within New Zealand.One of the largest regions, Canterbury includes seven district associations: Buller, Canterbury Country, Christchurch Metropolitan, Christchurch Junior, Mid Canterbury, South Canterbury, and West Coast.With 22,000 players, Canterbury Cricket manages all talent pathways from grassroots participation to professional teams, including the Canterbury Men's and Women's teams, Canterbury Magicians, and Canterbury Kings.Reporting to the Chair, Jono Brent, supported by a highly skilled and collaborative Board, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for providing strategic leadership and stakeholder engagement to ensure the growth and success of cricket in the Canterbury region.Skills & Experience:As the ideal candidate, your strategic leadership skills will inspire and guide the Association towards achieving its vision of cricket being Canterbury's most accessible game, making it a game for life.Relationships are critical and you will understand the district to be a complete ecosystem made up of many different groups including players, associations, supporters, sponsors and influencers. Politically savvy, you will naturally work in a strategically collaborative way, with flair for ensuring all parties are actively engaged with, and supportive of the region's long-term vision for the game.As a commercially focused executive, you will be proven in turning strategy into well-defined objectives and deliverables that increase commercial value overall.
