Chief Executive Officer - Hospice Waikato

Details of the offer

A Charitable Trust, founded in 1981, Hospice Waikato was established to deliver specialist community palliative care within the Waikato, which means we look after those who have a life limiting or life-threatening illness. In reality, we do so much more than that. With a workforce of 130, and volunteers numbering over 600, we wrap a cloak of care around not only the patient, but their family and whanau, offering a variety of disciplines which combine to make end of life better, every single time. Our team understands that collectively, we have a significant and positive impact on all those in our care. Each of us plays a valuable role. The way we deliver this care is a focus for every member of the Hospice Waikato team, staff and volunteers alike. The Government funds approximately two-thirds of our core service delivery costs each year and the balance is generated by Hospice Waikato, in a variety of ways, from our supportive and generous community. We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization and its people through these changing times. Thus, the immediate priority is ensuring Hospice Waikato is adaptable to the changing health environment, through an intentional focus on financial and workforce sustainability. As a result, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record working in a senior leadership capacity within a multi-faceted operational environment. They will have experience in leading a diverse workforce, easily gaining the trust and respect of all those they interact with. The ability to network and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders and build purposeful relationships is crucial, as is a level of comfort in both the modern IT environment, and human resource management. And of equal importance is the person's commitment to embedding our CARE values in everything we do, every day.The person will have, or be willing to develop, an in-depth understanding of healthcare, a willingness to embrace tikanga Maori, and a sound understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. To apply for this role, please request a copy of the Candidate Briefing Information.
