Details of the offer

The Building and Construction Training Fund (BCTF) is an entity that evolved from the Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) in 2021, following the reform process that impacted New Zealand's vocational educational sector. As part of this transition, an industry good fund was established to empower enriched skills, training, education, and career pathways in the construction industry, supporting a highly productive, attractive, and cohesive construction industry. The organisation's strategic pillars are Improving Skills and Pathways, Collaboration, and Sustainable Future State. The role, which reports to the BCTF Board, leads a very small team and manages relationships with members/stakeholders and a range of external providers.BCTF's primary stakeholders consist of 18 construction sector membership bodies representing professions ranging from carpentry and professional services to specialist trades. More broadly, the BCTF seeks to influence and support positive change for the 80,000 businesses and close to a quarter of a million people employed in the industry. The BCTF Board seeks a visible, engaged leader with credentials across stakeholder management, strategy, and service provision. To be effective, you will need the capacity to lead nationally while operating from a very small organisational footprint. Strategic agility therefore needs to be balanced with a real willingness to 'get your hands dirty'.The organisation views itself as an 'enabler' and currently does not engage in apprenticeship training. Present activity includes partnering with providers to improve governance capability across the sector and the provision of grants to support individuals completing further industry-aligned study. You will be able to foster cohesion and collaboration with industry leaders, government officials, and other stakeholders. The BCTF may also become involved in advocacy as the future structure of New Zealand's vocational education system is being shaped. Exposure to the building or education sectors could add value but is not viewed as a requirement.Confidential enquiries and applications should be directed to Guy Brew or Vishnu Nair at Ichor Leadership Search by 5.00pm on Wednesday 11 September 2024. Contact us via email at ****** or telephone: +64 4 499 8230.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand? How would you rate your English language skills?Note: Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.Researching careers?
