Chief Commercial Officer / $500k OTE + Equity / Fintech / MelbourneA hugely successful start-up in the Fintech sector. Based in Melbourne, they have established deep relationships with many of the major players in the Banking and Finance Sector.The company has a simple mission: enable organisations to protect people's identities and assets. In 2024, this mission is more important than ever for their customers. Through their trusted aggregation services and frictionless user experiences, they are simplifying and enhancing identity verification and fraud prevention across the world.Having completed their Series-A+ fund raise, they are a team of 85 and are seeking exceptional talent to help them in the next stage of their journey.The roleWe are seeking a Chief Commercial Officer to join in Melbourne or Sydney. In this role, you will build, drive, and run our global sales, marketing, and other commercial functions, which will involve developing our sales and marketing methodology and processes across our channels. This is a crucial addition to the Executive team where you will materially shape the future of a game-changing category creator.You will bring a passion for acquiring new enterprise business through a targeted account strategy and understand the needs of our ideal customer profile. Working closely with Sales Operations and our Head of Marketing, you will coach and empower the commercial function to drive our growth. You understand and can champion the importance of executing a clear go-to-market program, CRM data capture, and consistency in our sales methodology. You love working with smart people and get excited about solving big problems for customers.Your ticket to success:Be an advocate: For the product, for our people, and for our values.A leader: Build the Sales and Marketing functions from the ground up, including building out our team and leading it.Analyse: Activity within the company's industry to develop the best and most effective business plans, establishing realistic and meaningful OKRs and KPIs.Provide financial and revenue support to the rest of the company's team of executives.Motivate and lead your department to meet and exceed revenue targets.Manage the Sales, Marketing, and other commercial teams while being heavily involved in the motivation, drive, and development of new talent within the organisation.Build a sustainable pipeline in collaboration with the Sales Director and drive your team's opportunities through the sales process, utilising our CRM system (we use Hubspot).Empower your sales team through structured training and tactical coaching.Lead meetings with decision-makers, including fellow C-levels.Lead the preparation of proposals and RFP responses.Sell: Create huge momentum in the enterprise market.Collaborate with business leaders on forecasting, sales cadence, product, and marketing to ensure we are constantly evolving and delivering on what the market wants.Champion cross-departmental collaboration and the importance of the whole team as part of our customer journey.Manage the day-to-day activities of the Sales and Marketing Functions, attending meetings, conducting pipeline reviews, and 1:1s.In a previous life, you have:10+ years of experience as a hands-on leader who has been successful in building teams, supporting team members, and carrying your own quota.Proven experience in analysing the industry to develop the best and most effective business plans, establishing realistic and meaningful OKRs and KPIs, and executing complex sales strategies through targeted account sales strategies.Experience using MEDDIC, Value Selling, and/or Challenger and SPIN (or a combination of these).Brilliant sales coaching and mentoring skills.An appreciation and understanding of sales metrics and how these achieve results.Heaps of energy and a true passion for leadership.Exceptional attention to detail, with experience presenting complex solutions to a C-Level audience.The company offers a generous remuneration package including a base of around $250k + Bonus and equity.This role is based in Melbourne or Sydney.
