The Strawberry Tree Kaikoura Limited is an award winning restaurant & live music venue producing next level pub meals. We specialize in fresh, locally caught fish and seafood.
We are looking for chefs to work alongside our Head Chef in our fast paced kitchen. We require chefs that are experienced, passionate & enthusiastic with a great work ethic and attitude.

JOB DESCRIPTION


Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality


Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment


Preparing and cooking our Western Style menu specialising in seafood


Seasoning food during cooking


Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes


Storing food in temperature controlled facilities


Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements


Estimating food requirements


Knowledge and working understanding of Food Control Plans, MPI requirements and general food safety and hygiene


Training other kitchen staff and apprentices as required


WAGE : $30 per hour
MINIMUM GUARANTEED HOURS : 30 per week
MAXIMUM HOURS: 50 per week
LOCATION: 21 West End, Kaikoura
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Either NZQA Level 4 qualification in Cookery OR a minimum of three years relevant work experience.
START DATE: 1 November 2024
