We are an authentic Indian restaurant who provides only the highest quality meals made from the freshest ingredients. We are seeking a Tandoori Chef to join our restaurant in Katikati New Zealand.
The purpose of this position is to use your flair and experience in cooking to continue to drive the restaurant forward whilst maintaining the food quality and customer service.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Cooking elements of every dish preparing side dishes and cooking meals according to customer orders. Ensure that portion control and quality standards are maintained in all meals cooked.
• Tracking and ensuring all food stock requirements and menu development and advice on menu pricing.
• Ensuring all procedures and work environments meet hygiene and safety standards
To be successful in this role you will need to have at least two years of experience in a cooking role. You must have an understanding of Indian and Asian flavours and techniques and must be able to use specialised kitchen equipment such as a Tandoor.
This position would best suit someone who is highly motivated has attention for detail and possesses a great knowledge of Indian and Asian flavours. Someone who is proactive honest and reliable would be the ideal candidate for this position. You must have a mature attitude and use initiative in the kitchen. You must be able to sucessfully use a Tandoor to create specialty dishes.
You will need to be available in the weekends and on public holidays. Please note that drug testing will be conducted as necessary in the assessment of your application to ensure that you will be able to work in the environment and with our equipment successfully.
We are looking at a minimum hourly wage of $29.66 and a maximum hourly wage of $35 for this position. We will also be able to guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week.
All applicants will need to be able to lawfully work full time in New Zealand.
