Offering unique experiences in amazing places, Explore Group operates a variety of marine and land-based activities in the Bay of Islands, Auckland, and Hamilton Island, Australia including the stunning Otehei Bay Restaurant and Bar located on Urupukapuka Island in the Bay of Islands.
We are currently seeking a Chef to join our close-knit team at our Café and Bar at Otehei Bay on Urupukapuka Island where we cater for day trippers, international tour and cruise passengers, locals and special events / functions.
Working with the head chef and venue managers, this role will see you both working with the wider team and also taking ownership of key areas of the kitchen, This is a great opportunity, whether you are starting your food service career or looking for the next great location to showcase your skills to join the team at truly breath-taking location.
Key requirements for this role is:
Minimum of one year experience in a similar role
Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.
Ability to motivate and oversee team members as required.
A solid knowledge of food preparation and food safety protocols and procedures
Ability to work sole charge but also as part of a close-knit team
Good understanding of Stock and cost control management
Ability to thrive in fast paced environment
Explore Group has exciting long-term plans for the Bay of Islands operation including Otehei Bay, The position is seasonal but for the right applicant full time may be considered. Join the team to play a key role in a unique location.. This is an on-island role where accommodation is provided for a nominal charge or free travel on daily ferry's as a secondary option.
