Chef

The successful candidate will be required to:

Planning menus items, participating in the organisation of ordering, cost controlling and wastage of food.
Prepare and cook a variety of Indian food dishes, according to established recipes and standards.
Ideally have a good understanding of Indian food, recipies, and cooking / food preparation methods
Checking and monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
Determining how food should be presented, and creting decorative food displays.
Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
Estimating amounts and costs of requried supplies, such as food and ingredients.
Implementing and following strict rules of personal hygine and ensure machinery is operated, cleaned and stored correctly.
Complying with all company policy and legal requirements with reference to health and safety to ensure that standards are maintained, in regard to food preparation and safety.
Participating in selecting and training new/current kitchen staff whenever it is required.

 
To be successful, you will need:

At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the same field, OR
Have a relevant level 4 or equivalent qualification / certificate
A good eye for detail and an ability to learn fast
A "can-do" attitude.
