Chef

We are expecting someone who has a passion for cooking, attention to details, ability to multi-task and be a proactive member of the team. You will need to have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the same field OR have a relevant level 5 or equivalent qualification/certificate in the same filed, OR overseas' occupational certificate, when being considered. If none, training will be provided.  Priority will be given to local NZ residence/citizens. Tasks Include: ·      Planning menu items, participating in the organisation of ordering, cost controlling and wastage of food ·      Preparing and cooking foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions ·      Checking and monitoring the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met ·      Determining how food should be presented, and creating decorative food displays ·      Demonstrating new cooking techniques and equipment to staff ·      Estimating amounts and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients ·      Implementing and following strict rules of personal hygiene and ensure machinery is  operated, cleaned and stored correctly; kitchen drawers and shelves are cleaned and  tidy ·      Complying with all Company Policies and legal requirements with special reference to Health and Safety to ensure all procedures: Health and Safety, and Food Safety Management are maintained to the required standards  ·      Participating in selecting and training new/current kitchen staff whenever it is required We pride ourselves on the quality of our food and the high standard of service we provide.
