Chef

Seeking an experienced chef to help our new and upcoming Barbecue and Brewery in Frankton, Queenstown.
This role is for a permanent full time position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, $25-$30 per hour, depending on experience.
As we are a small team, we are looking for hard working and reliable team players with the ability to multitask, work well under pressure in fast paced environments, and the ability to handle stress when working on your own.
Specific duties will include: ·        Assisting the Head Chef/Owner with running the everyday kitchen operations within agreed budgets and meal costings including assisting with the ordering of meal ingredient where needed.
·        Menu development alongside the owner, where needed ·        kitchen staff training and mentorship as the business grows ·        Preparing and cooking food, ensuring quality and presentation is always high level and consistent ·        Helping plan and organise for catering events.
·        Continuously evaluating and improving the efficiency and quality of kitchen operations and providing feedback to the Owner where needed.
You will be willing and able to help wherever is needed - working in a small team means working together to get all jobs done including dishwashing, cleaning, bar work, admin jobs such as stock taking, cashing up, etc.
Requirements: - A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience - Efficiency with food prep - Abiding by HACCAPP & hygiene regulations  - Friendly demeanor and good customer service.
- Flexibility to work any day of the week including weekends.
- Flexibility to work any hours including as early as 6am for food prep as well as potentially late shifts for bar service or events.
- Flexibility to travel and work offsite for catering events around the region.
Since this role requires training in various areas, we ask that all applicants are willing and able to commit to a minimum of 8 months or longer.
