About us:  No. 186 cafà is a beloved community spot, having served the local area for years. It is renowned for its rich coffee flavors and delectable dishes. The welcoming atmosphere and commitment to quality have made it a popular destination for both residents and visitors alike. Role: We are expanding our cafe's hours and have vacancies for two experienced chefs to join our team. The core purpose of each position willl be to produce all menu items to the establishent's standard.  Working Hours 32-35/week Wages: $32 - $35 per hour  SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintain all establishment policies and procedures. - Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised - To manage the operation and organisation of a section of the kitchen. - Maximum quality whilst containing labour costs. - Plan and organise work flows, order food supplies as required. - Cost recipes and develop menu items for the establishment as requested. - Keep recipe book up to date. - Cooking and ensuring food quality and presentation - Ensure equipment and work environment are operational, clean and tidy. - Ensure prep is up to date for days off. - Helping on running orders or making coffee as required - Impart knowledge and train staff to encourage high standards. - Ensure cleaning rosters are done and signed off. - Do dishes when needed. - Uphold morale in the kitchen and other departments. - Communicate with and support staff. - Attend kitchen meetings. - Be punctual and work the hours and times specified. - Prioritise workload to ensure work of the greatest importance to the business is undertaken with urgency and to a high standard. - Support and help develop a positive workplace culture. - Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills. - Responsibly manage all business resources within accountability levels. - Ensure minimal amounts of wastage. - Cleaning duties as required - Maintaining cleaning and hygiene standards - Ensure that your behaviour is always compliant with company policies - Ensure that all Health & Safety procedures are upheld. Skills, Experience, Education & Other Requirement - Minimum 1 years of experience working as a chef in cafà or restaurant - Relevant certificate in cookery or baking - Experience as a barista, and must know the basics of espresso making - Sense of humour & team work. - Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays - Kitchen organisational skills and ability to manage work load, prioritise and work under pressure. - Initiative, flexibility and the ability to multi-task - Clean background and must have a means of transport to get to work Applicants must be a resident/citizen or have an appropriate work visa.
