We're based in Whakatane right on the Strand.
This is a permanent position for 40 hours per week, which will include afternoon/evening shifts and weekend work depending on shift schedule.ResponsibilitiesThe main responsibility of the Chef is to assist the Head Chef and help run the kitchen in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and to coordinate particular sections of production as designated by the Head Chef, while producing high quality food offerings for our customers.You should have:At least 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchenLevel 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery) or similar would be idealGreat communication, leadership and people skillsExperienced with handling suppliers and ordering ingredients and other kitchen essentialsCapable of working in a team, work well under pressure and multitaskingHonest, dependable, diligent, flexible and enthusiasticYou must be a New Zealand Citizen or resident or otherwise be able to prove that you are legally entitled to work in New Zealand.We will begin shortlisting candidates immediately and applications will close upon the appointment of a successful candidate.Summary of role requirements:Flexible hours available2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this roleWorking rights required for this roleExpected start date for role: 05 January 2025Expected salary: $27 - $32 per hour
