Job Summary:
The One.Co Limited is seeking an experienced and talented chef who can contribute to menu development and ensure the highest quality of food preparation. This individual will play a crucial role in the restaurant's expansion, bringing creative flair to the menu while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning Menus: Design and innovate new dishes and adapt current menu items; Incorporate customer feedback to refine and improve the menu; Collaborate with the management team to align menu items with the restaurant's brand and target audience.
Cost Estimation and Inventory Management: Estimating food and labor costs, and managing food inventory and supplies.
Monitoring Quality: Ensuring the highest quality of dishes throughout all stages, from preparation to presentation.
Collaboration: Consulting with restaurant managers and other staff to discuss food preparation and potential issues.
Demonstration and Advice: Demonstrating cooking techniques and offering advice on efficient and effective cooking procedures.
Cooking: Preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality meals.
Enforcing Hygiene: Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, including kitchen cleanliness and food handling practices.
Staff Management: Selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff to maintain kitchen efficiency.
Food Preservation: Managing the freezing, preserving, and storage of food items as needed.
Minimum Qualification and Work Experience Requirements:
Relevant qualification NZQF Diploma OR
At least three years of relevant work experience
Other Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of various cuisines, including Asian and Western dishes
Exceptional cooking skills with a focus on high-quality food and creative presentation
Excellent communication skills
Excellent time management
Ability to work late at night and on weekends
