Position Summary The Chef de Partie will oversee all facets of the Fino Wine Bar kitchen. You will lead and be responsible for the daily success of the shift with a high level of attention to detail while maintaining costs. You will ensure that the team remains efficient, delivers consistent food whilst focusing on minimal waste and a good pace of service.
About You If this sounds like a role for you, you will possess high levels of energy, flexibility and the ability to operate autonomously within our structure. Ideally, you should have at least two years' experience as a senior chef in a high quality food-focused restaurant. You'll be able to show that you have a proven track record in achieving KPIs, working within a small team, strong interpersonal skills, whilst demonstrating your ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively. New venue opening experience is desired.
The Role Provide inspirational leadership, clear vision and direction to team members to ensure delivery of the Fino Wine Bar, values and vision, to create an amazing experience for our guests and team members.Oversees and manage the daily operations of the venue and ensure that all team members comply with food standards, policies and operating procedures.Conduct theoretical, formal and practical (on-the-job) training for all kitchen staff.Empower team members to take ownership and responsibility in going beyond to exceed guest expectations. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback.Monitor team members and provide effective performance feedback for improvements, recognition and performance appraisal as due.Mentor and guide individual team members' growth and identify short to long-term goals to achieve and ensure high colleague engagement and welfare.Assist with management of food costs and adhere to budgets allocated.Maintaining high quality food standards;Excellent verbal communication and time management skills;Ability to maintain a calm demeanour in a fast paced, high intensity environmentLeading, rostering, and training the kitchen team; Management of labour costs and reporting and the ability to balance high volume periods and peak service times with the team;Checking stock levels, ordering supplies, and implementing monthly stocktakes; Liaise with the FOH regarding menus, events and service; Talent Profile 2 - 3 years prior experience in a similar role/capacityWorking knowledge of excel, food cost and ordering templates Competent computing skillsExcellent communicator with a personable character and a passion in seasonal high quality ingredientsVery good command of written and spoken EnglishValid working rights in New Zealand
