We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, qualified, and reliable Chef de Partie to join an award-winning team.
Who are you?
You're a chef with at least 2 years' experience in commercial kitchens who is looking to work within a great team environment.
You'll have a genuine passion for food and cooking and you always strive to be the best version of yourself, taking pride in helping your team to do the same.
Excellent communication skills are essential, something which will come naturally to you.
Ideally, you'll have experience in high-end venues and having a qualification or a natural affinity for pastry would be ideal as well.
The successful candidate will need the following: Formal qualifications in professional cookery Unrestricted working rights in New Zealand Currently resides in Nelson or be able to relocate A strong work ethic with two recent work references Flexibility with hours - weekends and evenings ARE required Excellent command of the English language The opportunity As a Chef de Partie, you will be an integral part of the kitchen team.
The venue is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as functions, so you'll need to be available across a 7-day roster that will include weekends.
Your duties and responsibilities will include: Running your own section including mise en place Responsible for supervision of junior chefs and commis Monitoring and maintaining the Food Control Plan Writing prep and ordering lists for your section Full awareness of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production, and presentation standards In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside a renowned Head Chef who will be committed to mentoring you and helping you become the best chef you can be.
