Are you an exceptional chef?
Want to live and work in paradise?
A rare and stunning working lifestyle, ideal for a hospitality couple.
How would you like to live and work in the stunning Marlborough Sounds, in a luxury 5* environment? We are seeking an eager chef to develop their culinary expertise and deliver exciting and exceptional food that meets our guests' high expectations. This seaside sea change can offer just that, with the Chef de Partie opportunity here at Bay Of Many Coves.
The Bay of Many Coves is a luxury lodge in Arthur's Bay, a 30-minute water taxi ride up the Queen Charlotte Sound from Picton, and we are looking for a Chef de Partie for the upcoming busy summer season. This is initially on a summer contract , with flexible dates for the right candidate, but the approximate timeframe is September 2024 – End April 2025. There is potential for this to turn into a long-term permanent year-round position for the right candidate.
As a Chef de Partie, you will relish the opportunity to work in a fine dining restaurant in a five-star location. You will be joining our award-winning team and working in a small and tight-knit kitchen team. You will be eager to learn from our Head Chef and develop your skills to deliver exceptional food that exceeds guest expectations, often in a degustation style dinner menu. You will have a proven capability to operate the kitchen independently, as at times you may be responsible for the more casual Breakfast & Lunch service, following the Head Chef's directions.
We are particularly interested in applications from couples , given the remote location of the lodge these are live on-site roles. Your partner will have complementary hospitality experience, and we are open to the background of this person to see what role may be suitable. Some examples of roles/departments available are Reception, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, HR & Office Admin. To be successful you will both be discreet, dedicated, and comfortable working under pressure on split shifts. You will be joining a small and highly engaged team, so it's important you are team players and willing to pitch in.
You must be comfortable working and living in a remote location with no road access, so we find this suits someone that enjoys an outdoor lifestyle. It is a fantastic location to take advantage of the many outdoor activities at our doorstep - fishing, staff kayaks, and fantastic hiking tracks including access to the famous Queen Charlotte Track.
Both roles come with a remuneration package including accommodation, so we welcome your interest and a conversation about your suitability as a team of two.
Applications close 31st August 2024, but we will review applications as they come in, so you may hear from us before advertising closes.
