We are all valued and our success is a direct reflection of our people, teamwork, passion and professionalism.We're always looking for positive people to join our team, as working for us means being part of a company culture that's really passionate about putting people first.The Role | Te MahiWe have an opportunity for a Chef De Partie to support our busy dinner service.We are seeking a Chef De Partie to join our friendly kitchen team at The Lane Restaurant in Salisbury Street, adjacent to Sudima Christchurch City.The Lane is a modern, all-day Canterbury bistro serving up delicious, relaxed fare.This is a part time role, 20 hours per week guaranteed minimum.Responsibilities | Nga haepapaResponsibilities include but are not limited to:Produce excellent quality dishes to brand standards for the restaurant, bar, conferencing and room service on a day to day basis.Organising the shift, prep completion and supporting the team to ensure the kitchen is always well prepared, clean and hygienic for each shift.Support the Head Chef and where appropriate guide junior kitchen team members.Foster a great team environment of cooperation and respect between co-workers.Assisting with the planning menus, estimating costs, and ordering food supplies.Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.Discussing food preparation issues with Managers and the Food and Beverage team.Demonstrating techniques and cooking procedures.Preparing, freezing, preserving and cooking.Understanding and enforcing hygiene regulations.Assisting with selecting and training team members.RequirementsAbout you | Ko koe teneiWe seek team members with a great attitude, and in addition to that the following skills will see you succeed in this role:NZQF Diploma in Cookery (ANZSCO Skill Level 2).At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.Experience in a busy kitchen environment.Planning and organising skills and an ability to work individually and in a team.Ability to multi-task, show flexibility and meet deadlines, work under pressure.Flexible to work rostered shifts, including weekends, late nights, and public holidays.Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers).Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks, excellent time management abilities.Familiarity with sanitation regulations.BenefitsHe kura te tangata - We are all valuedDiscounts at our hotels, restaurants and spas across our network.Staff, family and friends rates at our hotels.Meals on duty, staff parking and uniform provided.Excellent reward & recognition events.Service and anniversary gifts and benefits.Wellbeing programme including Health insurance discounts.Paid training and individual Employee Development Plans.Training towards NZQA qualifications and our very own online digital learning platform.Free Life Insurance, Digital Will & Best Doctors teleservice after 3 months of employment.Interested applicants must have New Zealand work eligibility rights and have the ability to relocate to Kaikoura if needed.Our values are based on caring, working together, and doing the right thing.
