About the job: The Chef de Partie at Te Pa Tu plays a crucial role in the culinary operations of our organization. They are responsible for overseeing a specific section of the kitchen and ensuring that high-quality dishes are consistently produced. Some key responsibilities and main tasks include:
Assisting in the preparation and cooking of menu items within their designated section
Supervising and training junior members of the kitchen team
Ensuring that all dishes meet the highest standards for taste, presentation, and quality
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Contributing to menu planning and development of new recipes
Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
Always adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations
Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours
The Chef de Partie should be passionate about delivering exceptional culinary experiences, have a keen attention to detail, and possess strong leadership and communication skills. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of food quality and consistency.
Required skills Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role
Excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
Good communication and interpersonal abilities
Creativity and innovation in menu planning and food presentation
Attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards
Capability to collaborate with the kitchen team and support the Head Chef's vision
Required experiences Prior experience working in a professional kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role
Demonstrated success in managing a section of the kitchen and delivering high-quality dishes consistently
Familiarity with menu development, portion control, and cost management
A track record of maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards within the kitchen area
An understanding of inventory management, ordering supplies, and stock rotation practices
