We are looking for Chef De Partie positions for our hotel.
Princes Gate Hotel group is currently recruiting for Chef de Partie staff for our hotel. The hotel group includes these 3 hotels:
Prince's Gate Hotel , built in 1897, is an old boutique hotel with 52 rooms, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, spa, and meeting rooms. It has been masterfully restored through passionate attention to detail, situated at Rotorua's finest address, in the heart of the city.
Black Swan Lakeside Boutique Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel offering 8 exquisite rooms of the highest standard with one acre of grounds including rose gardens, sweeping lawns, swimming pool, spa, secret grotto, private jetty, and a restaurant. Each room is conceived to deliver a meaningful experience and strong connection to space.
Hana Lodge is a luxury boutique hotel with 12 rooms offering an outdoor swimming pool, restaurant, fitness Centre, and games room. Rotorua's city center and Rotorua International Airport are just a short 15-minute drive away.
We seek a passionate Chef de Partie with sound skills and experience in all areas of the kitchens for our restaurants and bar at our hotel properties. Come create an amazing food experience for our hotel and conference guests.
Position Summary:
Location of Work: Rotorua
Type of employment: permanent full or part-time.
Days required: Rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
You will be responsible for:
Assisting in developing daily, seasonal, and promotional menu items for the restaurant.
Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
Excellent understanding of food hygiene regulations, for example, HACCP, Food Safety Plan.
Managing various tasks such as inventory management, training staff, scheduling among staff members, and handling issues with suppliers or vendors.
Assisting the Head Chef in overseeing and directing all aspects of the operation of the kitchen and providing functional assistance.
Managing and leading the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef.
Focusing on enhancing our guests' experience by ensuring high standards, superb food, and service.
Maintaining a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
To be successful in this role:
A qualified chef with 3 or more years of relevant experience or a NZ Certificate in Cookery.
Proficiency with a la carte and conference cooking.
Experience with some bakery/pastry and Asian cuisine is a bonus.
A team player with a natural ability to motivate.
Experienced in monitoring and adhering to health & safety regulations in the kitchen.
Professional with effective communication skills and an aptitude for multi-tasking.
A skilled and passionate culinary specialist who loves keeping abreast of food trends.
Able to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Able to do split shifts (morning and dinner shift in the same day).
Have access to a car.
