Job Summary As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking dishes to the highest standards, maintaining kitchen organization and hygiene, and contributing to menu development. You will work closely with the other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and maintain our reputation for excellence. Responsibilities: Prepare and cook Asian Fusion curry dishes to the highest standards, including stir-fries and more. Each dish prepared meets the quality, quantity, presentation, correct temperature, and taste. Maintain kitchen organization and hygiene, including cleaning and sanitizing workstations and equipment. Develop and test recipes to ensure profitable, high-quality products. For functions, create new dishes as per the requirements provided. Provide input on marketing materials for advertising and menu presentations. Develop production strategies to streamline kitchen operations. Work efficiently during service, ensuring dishes are delivered to the correct tables in a timely manner. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment. Maintain accurate records of food preparation, storage, and waste. Preserve the food and freeze to meet the food control plan. Ensure the stock is maintained and stocks are ordered from suppliers. Talk to suppliers regarding quality issues of food ordered. Train the kitchen staff. Show the staff the preparation of new dishes. Sort out any complaints of food from customers. Maintain sanitary conditions that comply with state and local sanitation requirements. Follow proper food safety and handling procedures. Carry out necessary cleaning tasks daily and maintain the highest level of restaurant cleanliness. Ensure the hygiene regulations are followed in the business. Follow the food control plan book from the city council. Perform additional tasks as required by the restaurant management. Note: Duties and responsibilities are not listed in order of importance. Details of the Positions Location: Wellington region Hours: Minimum 30.00 hours per week Hourly Wage Rate: $30.00 Number of Positions: 1 Type: Full-time and permanent position Requirements Required to hold any Level 4 professional cookery-related qualification or 3 years of work experience in any position. Hold knowledge of Asian food and fusion dishes. Experience with fusion cuisine and modern twists on traditional dishes. Excellent knife skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Be flexible to work daily split shifts (Lunch & Dinner) and weekends where required. Willing to work on public holidays.
