About Us Organic Farm New Zealand (OFNZ) is located 30-minutes outside of Te Anau.  Biogro certified since 2006, OFNZ makes an organic range of high-impact, seasonal and personalised freeze-dried snacks, supplements, meals, and drinks utilising ingredients fresh from our onsite garden. Job Description OFNZ is currently looking to hire experienced chefs (Chinese Cuisine), who will play a crucial role in creating and preparing high-quality, organic dishes that reflect the seasonal and personalized approach of Organic Farm New Zealand (OFNZ).  Chefs will be responsible for planning seasonal menus, preparing production budgets, monitoring production quality, cooking dishes, training staff and ensuring that all food production adheres to the highest standards of quality, cleanliness, and safety. This role involves close collaboration with kitchen staff, dietitians, and management to maintain the quality and integrity of OFNZ's offerings. Duties & Responsibilities Plan and develop seasonal menus utilizing fresh, organic ingredients from the onsite garden.Estimate food production costs to ensure operational efficiency.Prepare and cook food in line with OFNZ's standards, ensuring high quality production.Monitor the quality of dishes throughout all stages of preparation.Discuss food preparation techniques and issues with Managers and kitchen staff.Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on best practices in food preparation.Explain and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.May oversee the freeze dry process, ensuring the integrity and nutritional value of organic ingredients.May prepare meals for staff, guests and management. Requirements At least three years of relevant experience (Chinese Cuisine) or relevant qualification (level 4 or above or equivalent)Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality.Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management.Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Benefits Full-time, Permanent Position (minimum 32 hours / week)Daily transfer from / to Te Anau (Daily transit of 40 minutes 1-way) Competitive salary of $30 - $35 per hour, with adjustments based on education and/or experience.Work site in pristine, beautiful natural surroundingsMultiple vacancies for this position (up to 5)
