We are seeking an experienced catering Chef to join our team.Key ResponsibilitiesMenu Development & Execution: Design and execute event-specific menus that are innovative and align with client requirements, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including staff management, workflow optimization, and adherence to production timelines.Compliance & Standards: Ensure culinary practices align with New Zealand food safety regulations and maintain high hygiene standards.Inventory & Resource Management: Manage inventory processes, supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective procurement without compromising quality.Team Development: Lead, train, and inspire a dynamic kitchen team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.Client-Centric Solutions: Tailor dishes to accommodate diverse dietary requirements, ensuring an inclusive culinary experience for all guests.Essential Criteria for SuccessExperience: A minimum of three years' professional experience in a high-volume culinary environment, preferably within the catering or events industry.Qualifications: Culinary credentials equivalent to the New Zealand Certificate in Cookery (Level 4) or higher.Leadership Abilities: Proven expertise in leading teams and managing personnel effectively.Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of food safety standards and compliance requirements in New Zealand.Additional Requirements:Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required by event schedules.Valid New Zealand driver's license or the ability to obtain one.Application Process: Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume, along with a cover letter detailing their relevant experience and motivation for applying, before the closing date of January 3rd 2025.
