Checkout Assistant Manager / 2IC - New World RangioraPermanent Full-time We are seeking a full-time Checkout Assistant Manager / 2IC to join our fantastic team. This is a dynamic role requiring a dynamic person.
The Checkout Assistant Manager assists the management team, ensuring the efficient and professional operation of the department. This is a hands-on role requiring a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of checkout.
Experience in checkout operation, staff training, and customer service is advantageous, and holding a LCQ, or being able to gain one, is an essential part of this role.
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a passion for delivering excellent customer service and communicate positively and effectively at all levels.
Responsibilities include: Ensuring excellent customer service standards are maintainedSupervising the team and the sale of age-restricted items (alcohol, lotto, etc.)Carrying out normal checkout duties such as till operation, packing bags, monitoring self-service checkouts, lotto sales, and coffee makingManaging daily team rosters to ensure sufficient staffing to meet demandsTraining staff in checkout operations, packing, lotto, and coffee makingBeing competent with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)Personal attributes required include: A proficient, purposeful, and personable approachAbility to lead and work well with a teamAbility to multi-task and complete tasks within required timeframesCapability of training staffThe days and hours will be discussed at the interview; however, this position will offer 5 permanent shifts per week. The rostered hours of work are mixed throughout the week on a Tuesday to Saturday roster. We anticipate a start date for applicants toward mid-January.
