New Zealand Government – Wellington, North Island 20 days ago , from New Zealand Government Apply your strategic and governance expertise on the Charities Registration BoardExpressions of interest are being sought for new candidates to be board members of the Charities Registration Board (the Board).Summary of the BoardThe Board was established under section 8 of the Charities Act 2005 (the Act) and is responsible for making decisions about the registration and de-registration of charitable entities.The Board typically meets for one day every six weeks plus preparation time between one to two days, depending on the complexity of submissions.Skills and experienceThe Board's candidate information sheet can be found at http://www.dia.govt.nz/Appointments-to-Statutory-Bodies.The selection criterion includes:experience in public law decision making;legal and regulatory experience - understanding of charities and trust law;experience in governance and consensus-based decision-making;strong professional and personal qualities, including good communication skills;knowledge of te ao Maori, kaupapa Maori charities and the broader involvement of Maori in the charitable sector tikanga;an understanding of how to apply the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi in a governance role;awareness of New Zealand's diverse communities and the ability to appreciate different viewpoints; andknowledge and first-hand experience of the charitable and philanthropic sector.How to applyExpression of interest forms and further information about the process are available on the Department of Internal Affairs' Statutory Appointments webpage: http://www.dia.govt.nz/Appointments-to-Statutory-Bodies.Each application must be accompanied by a completed expression of interest form, a current curriculum vitae, a cover letter, and photo identification (Passport or NZ Drivers licence).Completed expressions of interest containing the above information should be sent to ****** by 5 pm on Monday, 4 November 2024.Queries or requests for information can be made by emailing ******.
