This role is ideal for someone located in the Napier/Hastings area, though applicants from other areas within Hawkes Bay are welcome to apply.
The position will require some travel to Central Hawke's Bay.
You'll also engage with tamariki and whanau, demonstrate Playcentre philosophy and best practices in early childhood education, while receiving support from the regional team and regular PLD.
Responsibilities Providing advice and support to Playcentres around Napier/Hastings Role modelling and encouraging implementation of Playcentre philosophy Being the Service Provider Contact Person for the Ministry of Education Ensuring that day to day actions are carried out to support compliance with statutory requirements Managing centre-based employees Leading preparation for Ministry of Education Review Office visits Starts 21st October 2024 or as soon as appointed.
Responsible for Playcentres within the Napier/Hastings region & Central Hawke's Bay.
Days & hours: This position may include a fixed-term component finishing in August 2025 and a permanent component.
The 30 hours will be spread over 4 to 5 days, can negotiate schedule with the right candidate.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will: Hold a Playcentre Course 3 or above or an ECE L4 and above and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of either Playcentre and/or ECE environments.
You will bring: Excellent relationship management skills – proven ability to interact effectively and confidently with a range of stakeholders Sound judgement, a great work ethic and ability to work independently Flexibility and the ability to deal with issues as they arise Knowledge of Te Whariki , Early Childhood Education legislation, and MOE licensing criteria Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office How to apply To apply for this role, contact with your CV & cover letter.
