Centre Advisor – Hamilton/Cambridge Region Playcentres

Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to: 0.6, Start Date: 17/03/2025, End Date: 31/08/2025 (Special support role) Early learning / kohanga reo, Certificated teacher Playcentre's within the Hamilton/Cambridge region is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Centre Advisor to join our well-resourced and vibrant Playcentre Community.
The centre advisor provides advice and support to four of our centres.
They are the link between centres and regional management, ensuring statutory regulations are met and the needs of our whanau and Tamariki are supported.
The centre advisor supports centres by: Providing advice and support centres around the Hamilton/Cambridge area Role modelling and encouraging implementation of Playcentre philosophy and good practice in centres Leading preparation for Ministry of Education Review Office visits Ensuring that day to day actions is carried out to support compliance with statutory requirements Promoting the health of each centre Managing centre-based employees Liaising with the Regional Office and the centre Monday to Friday for 26.25 hours per week within the hours of 9am–2.45pm (including 30 min unpaid break).
This is a fixed-term position starting on 17 March 2025 ending 31 August 2025 .
The ideal candidate will: Hold a Playcentre Course 3 or above or ECE L4 and above and demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of either Playcentre or ECE environments.
Desirable skills and experience will include: Excellent relationship management skills – proven ability to interact effectively and confidently with a range of stakeholders Sound judgement, a great work ethic and ability to work independently An understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how they relate to Playcentre Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office An ease of being in a leadership role with honesty, discretion, sensitivity, self-discipline, and resilience Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
