With this growth comes the opportunity for a Category Manager in a Monday to Friday role to support our team, based in Burnside, Christchurch.
The role:
Developing and implementing category strategies : Align these strategies with overall business goals and market trends.
Market analysis : Analyse consumer behavior, competitor activities, and product performance.
Supplier relationships : Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate better pricing, and delivery terms.
Cross-functional collaboration to ensure category success .
Product assortment management : Strategic planning and curating a range of products to enhance the customer experience.
Pricing strategies : Maintain competitive prices while ensuring profitability.
Promotional campaigns : Liaise with Marketing to plan and execute campaigns to drive sales and brand awareness.
Sales performance analysis : Monitor sales data to identify growth opportunities.
Is passionate about product trends to drive category growth
Strong negotiation and analytical skills
Proficient in interpreting market insights
Effective communication with cross-functional teams and suppliers
Commercial acumen
Advanced Excel
Experience in large scale buying is preferred
Familiarity with NetSuite and TONIQ Software would be an advantage
Pharmacy knowledge would be an advantage, but not essential
