Our Category Development Manager is an important role in the business and provides strategic category leadership to our Marketing, Sales and Senior Leadership teams.
The opportunity An exciting opportunity is available for a passionate individual looking to build their career across our commercial function. Tip Top's Sales & Marketing team is a high performing, dynamic team to be part of and no two days are the same meaning you will have constant variety and challenge in your role.
Reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing, the key responsibilities include:
Delivering annual Category plans that align with the commercial strategy, helping to drive long-term growth
Leading annual Customer Category reviews across Grocery and P&C channels
Developing strong relationships with retail category partners through providing a category centric approach to retailer recommendations, led by fact-based insights, analytics and strategies
Developing NPD volume assumptions for the Gate process
Delivering monthly dashboard reporting through Circana scan data to support Sales and Marketing understanding of market performance
Publishing and regularly reviewing promotional and pricing recommendations
Developing Planograms and making strategic recommendations by channel
Updating and managing Circana data weekly/ monthly dashboard reports on behalf of the business, including accurate and on-time delivery of key reports to Froneri Group
Updating the NPD tracker each week/month as required
Identifying and highlighting business gaps and opportunities through providing relevant category and shopper insights
Providing ad hoc data support for the Commercial team to help drive specific business objectives
Providing Circana/ Nielsen training to stakeholders where needed in sales and marketing teams
Acting as the main point of contact with our data and insights agency partners (Circana/ Nielsen)
What you'll bring and develop This is a busy role with one direct report, so you'll need to be able to manage competing priorities and workload, be consistently reliable and have a positive attitude to succeed.
You will be a natural communicator with strong presentation skills given you will be regularly presenting at customer range reviews throughout the year.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Tertiary qualification in marketing, commerce or finance preferred
Minimum 4 years FMCG Category experience, preferably within the food industry (but not essential)
Highly proficient in Circana/ Nielsen, PowerPoint and Excel
Able to consistently deliver successful results and outcomes
Able to build strong customer and consumer relationships
Collaborative approach in dealing with teams across a business
