Casual Team Member - Learn to Swim Instructor | Tepid Baths Auckland CBD
Working as a casual team member at our lovely Tepid Baths is an opportunity for you to make a real difference in the community.
We are looking for casual team members who will predominantly work as Learn to Swim Instructors.
As a casual team member, you are responsible for:
Teaching people the basic principles of how to swim (we'll teach you how to do this!)
Maintaining a fun, caring, and safe environment for customers and visitors
Being part of an amazing team serving your local community
Supporting customer service and other functions as required
Our centre opens from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm on weekends and 5:30 am to 9:15 pm on weekdays; the ability to work early, late, and on weekends is crucial.
You will be a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, exceptional customer service skills, and be able to communicate well with members of the public.
Previous experience working with children would be beneficial.
If you have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that'd be fantastic. However, we will provide full, comprehensive training that you need to excel in the job.
To be considered for this role, you must also be willing to complete First Aid training.
Our successful candidate will be comfortable in the water and be able to:
Swim 50 metres freestyle
Tread water for 3 minutes
You will be joining a team that is outgoing and customer-focused.
We aim to upskill and progress your career, so you can train and take on other functions within our centres, such as Recreation Assistant, Fitness Instructor, and more.
By the same token, if we occasionally need some help in other areas such as at our front desk and general customer service duties, as a team member, you may be called on to cover these areas if short-staffed or during peak periods.
Pay Rate: 27.80/h+
*Please note the official job title is Casual Team Member.
