Training will be provided as per business requirements, and you may be trained in some or all aspects of the role over your employment.About youThe Casual Security Officer will provide frontline protection at our entrance and be responsible for providing efficient day-to-day security service for the port complex, to include staff, contractors, ships' crews and visitors. Security Officers provide and enforce security initiatives relating to maritime security, to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:Previous experience in Security and/or Surveillance, working with CCTV footageExperience in Mobile PatrolsProven track record working on a teamStrong sense of initiative, with the ability to prioritise workflowsFull, Clean, Class 1 New Zealand Driver's LicenceThe ability to work varied shifts covering a 24/7 rosterGood computer literacy skills (basic standard)Other strongly desirable skills:A good sense of humour and the ability to build strong relationships with colleaguesThe willingness to constantly improve our service to the customers, LPC Staff, the visitors, and the communityExperience in Marine and Restricted Radio CommunicationCritical thinking skillsBe able to work independently and as part of a teamSound organisational skillsAbout LPCWe are Lyttelton Port Company (LPC), the largest Port in the South Island, committed to Leading the Way for our people and our region.
