Various shifts between 7 - 11pm, 7 days a week

Salary - Starting rate $23.25 per hour. Based on the Etu Multi-Employer Collective Agreement, with time and a half on weekends and double time on statutory holidays.
About the Role
Orderlies play an integral part in the patient journey, ensuring the delivery of exceptional quality care in our facilities. They are there to safely transfer confidential mail and move patients around the hospital. Our team provides essential orderly services within Ashburton Hospital.
We are looking for someone that has great customer service skills, can think on their feet, multitask, and can work under pressure. To be considered for this role, you will need to be physically fit to be able to work on your feet for your entire shift, as well as being able to move patients around the hospital with ease and professionalism.
We are a small team of orderlies who support each other when required. Our team environment thrives on hard work and consistent delivery; we have mutual respect and support one another to get the tasks completed.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Ensuring that all tasks and duties are prioritised and carried out effectively, efficiently, and without unnecessary delay.
Sorting and delivering mail parcels and supply packages through the hospital.
Transferring confidential medical records.
Delivering the meal trolley to the wards.
Covering emergency calls and the day orderly during breaks and busy times.
Relieving rubbish collection, Mortuary duties, and any other duties required.
About you
Skills and Experience:
An enthusiastic and people-focused approach to your work.
Excellent customer service skills.
Physically fit and able to be on your feet for an entire shift, as the role involves a lot of walking and some lifting around the hospital.
Flexibility and reliability.
Phone and basic computer skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritise jobs.
Full NZ Drivers Licence preferred.
