As these are casual employment opportunities, these roles are ideal if you want some work over the holiday period, want some extra money without the permanent hours or want to have a go at a different role earning while you learn!
This could be great for someone located or easily accessible to the area by car or public transport.
ResponsibilitiesAs a gardener, some things which you will be doing include: Ensuring gardens are lush and vibrant for all to enjoy Assist with the general upkeep of the grounds and facilities Ensures that all equipment is maintained and used appropriately in order to achieve maximum working life and high standards of safety Working in maintenance, your duties and responsibilities will include: You will provide general maintenance services to our residents in our Village Assisting with the maintenance of a comprehensive range of village facilities Rubbish removal and cleanliness Taking responsibility in liaising with residents daily to understand and problem solve any general maintenance issues on site About youWe are looking for team members with the right attitude, excellent communication skills and who can work as part of a team to provide support in maintaining our village to a high standard.
Some things that will support your application include: Previous experience working as a general handyman or in property maintenance will be highly advantageous as well as any horticulture and/or gardening Reliable, super organised and have good time management This is a physical role and requires a good level of fitness (some heavy lifting involved) Confidence using hand, power tools and operating maintenance machinery Excellent communication skills - written and verbal Customer centric approach - driven to deliver outstanding service to our residents About usEstablished in 1984, Metlifecare is a leading owner and operator of retirement villages, providing rewarding lifestyles and care to more than 6,500 New Zealanders.
