This is a casual position - must be available to work all shifts.
Some shifts may be planned to cover annual leave, but must also be available for short notice sickness cover.
Shifts are 8 hours including morning, later morning, afternoon, and night shifts.
Kurawaka Waipapa opened earlier this year and is founded on a Te Ao Maori model of care.
Oromairaki is also a contemporary new birthing unit within the Selwyn Health Hub (Toka Hapai) located in Rolleston.
Hospital Aides support the midwives' role and are responsible for the domestic requirements of the unit.
These include, for example, cleaning and stocking rooms; ordering and stocking linen; orientating women to the unit; and supporting partner and whanau visiting; answering the phone.
