Start Date: As soon as possibleHours: Casual (for more information see below details)Location: Kurawaka Waipapa - Central City & Oromairaki - RollestonSalary: Based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreementAbout the RoleBe part of a dynamic team working in 2 new community birthing units. This is a casual position - must be available to work all shifts. Some shifts may be planned to cover annual leave, but must also be available for short notice sickness cover. Shifts are 8 hours including morning, later morning, afternoon, and night shifts.Kurawaka Waipapa opened earlier this year and is founded on a Te Ao Maori model of care. Oromairaki is also a contemporary new birthing unit within the Selwyn Health Hub (Toka Hapai) located in Rolleston. Hospital Aides support the midwives' role and are responsible for the domestic requirements of the unit.These include, for example, cleaning and stocking rooms; ordering and stocking linen; orientating women to the unit; and supporting partner and whanau visiting; answering the phone.About YouThis role offers an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated individual who is looking to be part of the maternity strategy to promote a model of care change that seeks to facilitate more women having the confidence, if well, to birth at our community units.Skills and ExperienceThis role requires the following:Previous Hospital Aide experience and a First Aid Certificate an advantageA passion for primary birthing and breastfeedingA commitment to equity and our responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi within maternity servicesThe ability to be adaptable, flexible, and solution-focusedBenefitsOngoing training and developmentTe Whatu Ora employee benefitsWhen you work at Te Whatu Ora, you are part of a wider whanau that will support you along your journey.
