Health New Zealand is looking for a cook to join our Kaikoura Health Te Ha O Te Ora kapa (team) to help feed our turoro (patients) and whanau (family).
Located on the beautiful Kaikoura coast, Kaikoura Health Te Ha O Te Ora offers a wide variety of services to the local community.
Our integrated Family Health Centre offers a fantastic mix of general practice and rural hospital medicine with a wide range of services, and this role is supporting those important services.
In this role, you will be responsible for: Cooking for rest home residents, acute turoro (patients), and meals on wheels delivery.Keeping work areas, equipment, and utensils clean and well maintained.Receiving, storing, and rotating kitchen supplies.Regularly developing and updating industry knowledge. You will be following recipes from a weekly menu and will be supported by the main cook of the day.This is a casual role with no guaranteed hours or days. In this role, you will be covering sick (on-call) and annual leave. Shifts are no more than 8 hours.
Salary starting from $25.50 per hour, based on the E tu Service and Food Workers collective agreement.
Ko wai koe - About You We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and punctual Cook who is able to bring their passion for food to our facility.
You will also be responsible for maintaining and adhering to our Food Control Plan, Health New Zealand code of conduct, and Health and Safety procedures.
Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.
