Casual Chef - Join Nurse Maude's Catering TeamLocation: Merivale, ChristchurchPosition Type: CasualReporting To: Hospitality ManagerTe Whakahaerenga/The OrganisationNurse Maude is a well-known and highly regarded organisation, who have been providing healthcare services to the community for over 120 years.Te Mahi/About the PositionWe're looking for a reliable and skilled Casual Chef/Cook to prepare, cook, and present nutritious and well-balanced meals for our residents and customers.
You'll be an integral part of our catering team, ensuring the kitchen operates to a high standard of food safety, hygiene, and quality.Key aspects of this role include:Prepare, cook, and present meals that meet individual dietary requirements.Ensure compliance with the Food Control Plan and record all relevant tasks using Safe Food Pro.Receive, label, and safely store kitchen supplies.Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment by completing daily cleaning tasks.Train and support other team members when needed.Promote a safe and healthy workplace in line with the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) and the Food Safety Act (2014).Uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your daily work.He momo/About youTo be successful in this role you will have:NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent) desirable.NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) desirable.Minimum of 3 years' experience in a commercial kitchen.Experience in aged care or the health sector is an advantage.Knowledge of the IDDSI framework (preferred).Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Physical fitness, reliability, and a strong work ethic.A commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction.Eligibility to work in New Zealand.Ki te huanga/Benefits of working at Nurse MaudeBe part of a team that makes a real difference in people's lives.A supportive and inclusive work environment.Flexible casual hours to suit your availability.Wellbeing - The wellbeing of our staff is very important to us.
