About the Team / Service / Location Community Health Services Administration (CSA) is a collaborative administrative team that supports our Allied Health and District Nursing teams across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
Based in the main campus of Gisborne Hospital, we are the first point of entry for referrals, waitlist management, appointment bookings, consumables coordination, and funding management. We have equity and quality at the forefront of everything we do so we are constantly striving to do better not just for our patients but for ourselves and our organisation.
About the Role We are looking for a casual administrator to join our wider CSA team who will support all functions of our service. Duties could include reception, referral entry, appointment making, filing, ACC claim identification and general administration tasks.
The key responsibilities of this role include referral management, waitlist management, scheduling appointments, ACC contract knowledge, and reception duties.
This is a casual position and the working hours of the department are 8 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

The ideal applicant should possess: Minimum of one year experience in a hospital-based administration roleKnowledge of ACC health contractsProven knowledge of all Windows-based applications (MS Outlook, Word, Excel)Knowledge of hospital-based systemsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work within a multi-disciplinary teamProven organisational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills, including the ability to prioritise appropriatelyAbility to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlinesA positive attitude to go the extra mile to assist othersCompetency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growthExperience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.Working for Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is 'the weaving of wellness'.
