Our 3-2-1 Hybrid Working Model
3 days from anywhere in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand per week,
2 days from an RACP office location per week,
1 of the two days per week in office spent with your team.
Job Description About the Role
Overseas Trained Physicians (OTPs) are specialist physicians or paediatricians who have received their medical education and training outside of the country where they intend to practice. Overseas specialists in Australia can access short-term specialist training and specialist assessment. In Aotearoa New Zealand, overseas specialists can access vocational registration. At RACP this program is responsible for the strategic management of OTP's from a program development and program delivery perspective.
The Case Officer reports directly to the Program Delivery Officer (OTP NZ) in Wellington under the oversight of the Program Lead (OTP AU). The Case Officer also reports to the Aotearoa New Zealand Manager (NZ) on office operational matters. The Case Officer works closely with counterparts in the Medical Council of New Zealand, and with Fellows providing pro-bono service to the College. The position holder provides support to the College committee responsible for OTP matters in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Duties include:
Support day to day delivery of the OTP program and activities as it relates to Aotearoa New Zealand.
Work with the Program Delivery Officer on the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of new initiatives for the continuous improvement of the program
Support the Aotearoa New Zealand OTP Assessment Committee as needed
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and timeframes
Proofread reports from College assessors, ensuring that information is accurate and written to professional standards
Organise and host interviews for OTPs under assessment
Coordinate Fellowship pre-applications and processes for OTPs in Aotearoa New Zealand
Assist with the development of guidelines, processes and policies for program communications
Desired Skills and Experience The successful candidate will have:
Tertiary qualification in education or a related field
Excellent written and communication skills
Demonstrated capacity to quickly understand and operate in a complex environment
Commitment to delivering high quality outcomes
Capability to take initiative and implement process change to effect improvement
Ability to provide robust advice to senior internal and external stakeholders based on information gathering, analysis and sound reasoning skills
Assessment of applications in regulatory or rules based assessment setting
Strong relationship-building skills
Ability to represent the OTP Team at meetings and in communications as required and appropriate
