Case Manager | Kaituitui, Hawkes Bay or Whanganui at Ministry of Social Development, Manawatu-WhanganuiPhone Based Case Manager, Hawkes Bay or Whanganui - Fixed Term (to 30 June 2025) The Ministry of Social Development is a people-centred organisation. What you'll be doing | He aha tau e mahi ana As the face of the organisation, you will be working alongside our people to support them into employment and housing. You will provide financial support and connect whanau to a wide range of services and other assistance as required. The whanau we serve come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. You will create a safe environment for people to explore options and determine what's most important to them. You will empower whanau to take the lead in developing and achieving their goals.
You will build strong relationships and work collaboratively with others to enhance outcomes for our people. You will need to develop and maintain relationships with your peers and partner agencies to give and receive support when needed.
You will be exceptionally organised, with sound decision making and problem-solving skills. In addition to this, you will bring a high level of personal integrity and initiative and take ownership and responsibility to follow through and deliver for the people in our community.
Be purposeful: show care and warmth, give support to others. Look after the dignity of people through the expression of manaaki.
Be resilient: the work is fast paced and demanding. You will be highly dependable and have the grit and tenacity to show up and work hard, bringing developed strategies with you to cope with pressure, in an ever-changing environment.
Be open: be fully present and listen intently without judgement to what is being said, empathise with whanau and their experiences, thoughts, and feelings.
