As a Kaiwhakahaere Kehi (Case Manager), you will provide specialist, end-to-end management of those serving sentences as they work through programmes aimed at addressing rehabilitation and reintegration needs.
The role includes all facets of case management from initial assessment, needs identification, case planning, and partnering with external agencies and the whanau of those in our care to support rehabilitation.
Case Managers lead rehabilitation and reintegration by using a person-centric approach.
By focusing on the wellbeing of the person, you will help reduce the chances of them returning to past behaviour and help them to make better choices for a crime-free future.
This is a full-time, permanent role, working a Monday - Friday profile and is based in Canterbury.
Central to your success as a Case Manager is the ability to exercise sound professional judgement ensuring that a person's needs are appropriately identified, and the most appropriate treatment and programmes are matched to meet these needs.
We are looking for people who:

Have experience in case management and/or rehabilitation and reintegration practices.
Strong written skills including the ability to prepare written reports.
Effective relationship building and communication skills.
An ability to motivate and support people in prison to make positive changes.
Can operate effectively in a Maori cultural setting and have an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Can operate with high levels of integrity.
Have a full, clean New Zealand driver licence.
A background or qualification in rehabilitative services, psychology, social work, or another related field is desirable, but not essential.
The starting salary for this position starts at $68,456 - $73,447 per annum.
Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
