Job Title: Carpentry TutorTai Poutini Polytechnic is looking for someone with construction/building experience to share their skills and knowledge with students who are seeking careers in the building and construction industries.Don't have teaching experience? No worries, we offer support to gain your level 5 teaching qualification.This role is flexible to suit you, with permanent, fixed-term or casual opportunities available!As a Carpentry Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching and supporting students working towards their level three New Zealand Certificate in Construction Trade Skills in preparation for joining the construction industry as an apprentice.The key focus of this role is providing elementary skills in Carpentry areas, primarily delivered on campus in face-to-face practical and theory learning sessions. Some delivery of distance learning may be required.You will be joining a team of highly regarded trades tutors and be tasked with teaching and supporting students in their learning journey.Key Responsibilities:Carpentry industry experienceVision, innovation, and a commitment to facilitating learningSupport students to achieve their learning goalsHold a recognised Trade QualificationDevelop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the use of learning technologiesTime management skills, including the ability to organise activities effectively and efficiently, meeting deadlinesEngagement with assessment and feedback processesTeaching experience desirable (training and support offered for the right person)Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office productsYour qualifications and extensive industry experience in building and construction are key to your success in this role.
