We require an experienced Carpentry Supervisor to lead our Hamilton based Carpentry Team. You will be leading the Carpentry team while pricing and co-ordinating maintenance and project work on our corporate clients' property portfolios. This role would suit a senior carpenter, a business owner/operator looking for a new challenge, or a qualified tradesperson with some pricing and/or project management experience, looking to move off the tools. We are seeking someone ready to hit the ground running as a leader within the team, and to help drive the team forward. About the Role: Act as the first point of contact for escalations – technical and safety. Champion C&W safety management systems. Conduct safety spot checks. Conduct completed works spot checks. Approve SWMS and other safety documentation prior to job start. Ensure inductions are completed for new starters. Ensure initial and ongoing safety training is completed for new and existing starters. Estimating / pricing new work including upgrades. Leading minor work projects, ensuring they are delivered to required budget, quality and timeframes. Managing close out documentation including variations and reconciliations. Liaising with clients, our in-house Trades team and subcontractor networking. Some management of minor works projects may be required, during peaks. About You: Commercial or residential Carpentry experience. People management experience is an advantage. Trade experienced and qualified, with NZ LBP registration. Some minor estimating experience is preferred, but training can be provided to the right candidate. Site Safe Card, Working at Heights, Elevated Work Platforms highly desirable, but training can be provided. Computer literate – MS Word, Excel and Outlook. A good communicator, both written and oral. Able to meet deadlines and work with a high level of autonomy. Ability to work as part of a team. Knowledge and commitment to Health and Safety. You must have good (English) written and oral communication skills and have experience dealing with clients in a professional manner. Why join Cushman & Wakefield? Free Life Insurance. Good personal presentation and customer service skills are also essential, as is a clean full driver's licence. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a drug test, complete a Pre-employment Health Questionnaire and MOJ check. A criminal conviction review is also a requirement of the role.
