Are you a Dempsey Wood kind of person?We know that our company is only as good as the people we employ, which is why we select our staff carefully, then look after them and their careers once they're part of the team.We're looking for up to six Carpenters to join our teams working on civil construction sites around the Auckland region.Key duties include:
Study drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures.
Profile and construct foundations including formwork, placement of hard-fill, pods, steel work and other duties required for Dempsey Wood Civil Infrastructure requirements.
Lay construction materials such as timber formwork, paving stones and concrete.
Spread plaster to exterior concrete walls, kerbs and concrete to engineers drawings or oral instructions.
Pick up and deliver materials and goods to places when required.
Cut materials, and assembling and nailing cut and shaped parts.
Assemble prepared wood to form structures and fittings ready to install.
Strike and remove formwork if required.
Perform any labour duties as and when they are required.
You will need to be fit and healthy, keen on working plenty of hours (7am start), Monday-Friday and a half day on Saturdays as needed. This is a physically demanding & safety critical role.These are full time jobs with a minimum of 40 hours per week. The hourly rate for this role is between $30-32 per hour.
What we're looking for:
3+ years' relevant experience as a Carpenter (working with concreting and formwork)
Experience working on civil construction sites.
Physically fit & enjoys working outdoors.
Knowledge of site health and safety requirements.
Takes pride in your work, looks after your equipment & the team working around you.
Reliable & flexible – we need you to turn up, on time, rain or shine!
