Position: Carpenter (for plumbing and gas fitting)
Reports to: Manager/Director

Hourly Rate: $23.50 - $24.00
Days Required: Need to be available from Monday to Saturday
Need to be available for callout on Sunday and public holiday
Hours per Week: Minimum 30 hours. Up to 50 hours.
We are an Auckland-based plumbing and gas fitting company, and now need to recruit a carpenter for relevant carpentry work.
The key tasks and responsibilities are listed as following:
1. Creating Access Points:
- Be able to cut holes in floors, walls, and ceilings to allow plumbers and gas fitters to install pipes and fittings.
- Installation of access panels for future maintenance and inspections of pipes and gas lines.
2. Build Support Structures:
- Building and installing wooden or metal supports to securely hold pipes in place.
- Constructing enclosures for water heaters, boilers, and other plumbing or gas equipment to protect them and improve aesthetics.
3. Framing:
- Framing walls, floors, and ceilings in new buildings to accommodate plumbing and gas lines.
- Modifying existing framing to allow for the installation or rerouting of pipes and gas lines.
4. Cabinetry and Fixtures:
- Building and installing cabinetry and countertops that integrate sinks and plumbing fixtures.
- Constructing shelves and storage units around plumbing fixtures and appliances.
5. Flooring and Subflooring:
- Fixing or replacing sections of subflooring that may have been damaged during plumbing repairs or installations.
- Strengthening floors to support heavy plumbing fixtures like bathtubs and water heaters.
6. Finishing Work:
- Installing trim, baseboards, and modelling around newly installed plumbing fixtures to ensure a clean and finished appearance.
- Repairing and patching walls, floors, and ceilings after plumbing work is completed.
- It would be advantageous if you could do simple plastering and polishing work.
Requirements for the applicants:
• Relevant carpentry work experience (at least 3 years), AND A carpentry-related Level 4 certificate or above
• On-job training will be provided where necessary
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Contribute towards the smooth running of the team
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including those relating to hygiene, respect for other team members, timekeeping, and flexibility
• Priority will be given to NZ citizens/residents.
