From the moment you walk in the door, you will be greeted by the aroma of fresh baking, friendly kaiako and a warm homely feeling. Our days begin with a karakia and some waiata. This is a really nice way to greet each other in the morning before settling in for a day of exploring, discovering, and imagining together. We have familiar and predictable routines which the tamariki know well. New whanau often comment that these are helpful for their tamaiti during settling in times. We have an opportunity for a kind caring and nurturing Caregiver to join their team. As a Caregiver at BestStart, you will have the incredible opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children, providing them with a safe and stimulating environment. Reporting to our Centre Manager and working within a close-knit team you will be joining a dedicated team of teachers who provide quality care and education to our tamariki. On a day-to day basis, you will be actively involved in: Providing amazing care and education to our tamariki Championing the team spirit and engage in activities that empower and extend tamariki learning Fully participating in centre activities across all classrooms and cover staff breaks where necessary Supporting centre operations at all levels Role requirements: Though an ECE qualification is not required for this role, a natural affinity and experience working with children is a must. Our successful applicant will be: a team player with excellent communication skills comfortable fostering a love for learning, creativity, and exploration in our tamariki able to take direction from others and have a high level of initiative a fast and efficient learner who has high energy and is confident to use their initiative flexible to work with different ages and stage in every classroom to support the team with breaks and lunches This is a permanent part-time position offering 35 hours (7 hours each day between the hours of 730am-530pm), Monday-Friday.
