About the Role | Mo te Turanga
The Site Reliability team within Cartology supports the logging, monitoring, deployment and reliability of services and devices in the cloud and across our network of in-store and in-centre digital screens & devices.
This role will first and foremost focus on supporting our digital screens capability in NZ, requiring a broad range of skills from software engineering to network and Linux administration. Beyond this, the role will collaborate closely with our Australian Team to contribute to our overall SRE practice.
This role will be responsible for:
Monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a network of 10,000+ distributed devices (Digital Media Players, Routers, and Screens) across NZ & AU.
Automating and optimizing device fleet management processes.
Developing internal tools and documentation to enhance team efficiency.
Contributing to and supporting our cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE capabilities in collaboration with the Australian SRE team.
You will bring in cloud and site reliability experience along with strong Linux configuration and networking skills to help support our 10k devices in the field. In addition, you will have strong software engineering skills to competently code automated solutions to tasks or contribute to internal tools and systems.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
Extensive experience with Monitoring tools such as Prometheus and OTEL Collectors.
Strong familiarity with configuration management tools like Salt Project, Chef, or Puppet.
Knowledge of at least one SaaS Monitoring and Observability platform, like Datadog, Splunk/SignalFX, or Dynatrace.
Software engineering skills in Golang, Python, or Node.
Solid working knowledge of Linux utilities and scripting - bash, and CLI tools.
Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps/SRE practices.
Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
Experience working with at least one Cloud Provider, e.g., GCP or AWS.
