We're looking for a Quality Specialist (Technical) to join our team here in Aotearoa reporting to our Head of Product Innovation & Process Technology. Joining our team you'll take accountability for managing and delivering a component of the Product life cycle process, while being responsible for product quality standards.

You will be responsible for:
Setting the product quality processes, standards and strategies to enable kitchen to factory scaling up through subject matter expertise in process technology.
Accountable for planning, attending and contributing to factory trials to deliver a successful manufacturing process.
Run micro and shelf life trials, and deliver products that meet the required shelf life requirements.
Accountable for creation, agreement and maintenance of Quality Attribute Sheets (QAS).
Attend first productions and approve/reject production against the final QAS and specification.
Review and approve all artwork and labelling checks.
Investigate all quality/process related customer product complaints, identifying trends and driving root cause analysis and preventative actions.
Responsible for the ongoing product quality maintenance of all products in the Own Brand portfolio.
Analyse, monitor and collate key information to make informed decisions around quality, compliance and emerging trends.
Accountable for the product safety of all Own brand products in the portfolio.
Engage with suppliers, maintain and build strong and professional relationships, and build products/processes that contribute to mutual success.
Adhere to the NPD process for product development, completing all relevant documentation, and ensuring on time delivery of the agreed NPD plan, processes and product.
Keep up to date with industry quality trends, standards, processes and techniques.
Deliver products within determined categories that are safe, meet regulatory requirements, Woolworths Policies and Standards and customer quality expectations.
To succeed in this role you will need to have in-depth working knowledge and strong understanding of product, ingredients and cost makeup of products. You will come with a good understanding of Quality maintenance, sensory evaluation and organoleptic skills and lexicon. To be successful in this position, you will have a Tertiary Food Science qualification, minimum 3 Year Diploma, degree or similar in food industry, Food Nutrition or related industry, science, business etc, coupled with minimum 5 years experience in Process Technology or experience in a relevant discipline within a complex/matrix environment.
