We're looking for a Quality Control Officer to join our team here in Christchurch. This role is positioned in our Fruit & Veg team and is responsible for playing a part in all quality assurance activities at our Christchurch Produce Distribution Centre which services our South Island stores. Reporting to the Quality Control Team Leader, the successful candidate will work closely with the Distribution Centre, Buying, and store teams. Our aim is to bring to life the values of making kiwis' a little better every day, by continually improving the quality of fruit and vegetables for stores and customers.

The shift times would be Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday - total of 30 hours per week
About the Role | Mo te Turanga
To monitor and assess Fruit & Veg lines delivered to the distribution center (DC).
To validate the compliance with product quality and labeling specifications set by the Woolworths quality assurance team and Government Legislation.
Collaborate with the Commercial Buying Team to ensure we are delivering the best quality offer for store operations to enhance customer experience.
Reporting to Quality Control Team Leader and working alongside the buying teams to deliver safe, quality products in line with Woolworth's specifications and company KPI's.
Bring to life flexibility and drive productivity.

You will have:
Essential:
Experience working with a diverse team.

Passion for produce.
Ability to lift 20kg comfortably and repeatedly.

Desirable:
Experience working in a highly regulated environment.
Post Harvest knowledge.
Agronomy / Agriculture knowledge.
Understanding of supermarket retailing and commercial processes.
Foster a team environment where people can challenge current practices.
Makes changes that result in quantifiable business benefits.
Farming or/and retail fruit & veg experience.
