Career Opportunities: Business Analyst - Next Gen Tools (1007347) Requisition ID 1007347 - Posted - New Zealand - Full-time - Finance & Administration We're seeking a technical and commercially-minded Analyst to help support the progress of our Next Gen tools as they become an ongoing and highly valuable feature of our commercial operations.
As a member of the wiqNZ team, you will work closely with the Next Gen tools team in NZ, the WWNZ Commercial team, as well as the wiq (analytics) team globally (AU and India).
You should have an eagerness to use and continuously develop your Excel, SQL and Python skills to deliver high-impact analytical solutions and diagnose and resolve complex data issues in a timely manner.
Core Responsibilities: Data Pipeline Management: Support data pipeline refreshes and implement minor continuous improvement updates.
Toolkit Maintenance: Maintain and enhance our business-facing toolkits (Excel front-end, SQL/Python backend), including daily and ongoing tool updates/releases.
Benefits Tracking: Support the tool outcome/benefits trackers to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
Issue Resolution: Debug and resolve tooling issues, making strategic decisions on implementing hot fixes versus longer-term solutions.
Query Management: Monitor the tool inboxes, respond to and triage business stakeholder queries and communicate tool updates to the business.
Data Issue Escalation: Raise data-related concerns with data governance and data teams to ensure data quality and integrity.
What you'll bring: You will be an analytical powerhouse with exceptional communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
You'll need to be an Excel expert, with a deep understanding of advanced functions, automation, and data visualization techniques.
Your SQL skills will be put to the test as you navigate complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimisation.
We're increasingly using Python, so a willingness to develop your data wrangling and manipulation skills with Pandas is key.
You'll bring at least 3 years of experience in analytics and insights delivery, with a proven track record of presenting your findings to stakeholders at all levels.
A sharp commercial mind and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving are essential.
If you have experience with cloud-based solutions like GCP and BigQuery, or knowledge of the retail/FMCG industry, you'll have a definite edge.
