Job Description - Cardiologist 1.0 FTE (HAU01491)Location: Tairawhiti, New ZealandPosition: CardiologistEmployment Type: Full-timeAbout Us:Join our dedicated team in Tairawhiti, where we provide exceptional cardiac care to our diverse community. We are seeking a skilled Cardiologist to work alongside our committed cardiac nurses and physiologists in a supportive environment focused on holistic patient outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Conduct face-to-face patient clinics, providing comprehensive assessments and management plans for a range of cardiac conditions.Participate in echo reading sessions, contributing to the diagnostic and treatment processes for patients.Offer support to nursing staff and collaborate with general medicine teams in managing complex cardiac cases.Provide in-hospital consultations, addressing acute and ongoing cardiac needs.Engage with Waikato, the tertiary center, for service development and support, ensuring best practices are upheld in our region.Opportunity to maintain interventional skills by performing procedures at a partnering hospital, should you be an interventional cardiologist.Work Hours:40 hours per weekNo on-call or weekend responsibilitiesWhat We Offer:Access to advanced cardiac imaging, including cardiac CT, cardiac MRI, stress MRI, and soon stress echocardiography.A unique patient demographic, with a high population of Maori and a varied case mix, including significant rates of rheumatic fever.Collaboration with general medicine doctors who handle common cardiology cases (e.g., AFib, heart failure), allowing you to focus on more complex cases.A structured succession plan with an onboarding cardiologist to support your integration into the service.Requirements:Medical degree and board certification in Cardiology.Experience in managing complex cardiac cases, with a commitment to patient-centered care.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.A desire to work in a community-focused environment and address the specific health needs of the population.How to Apply:If you are a dedicated Cardiologist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in a unique community, we would love to hear from you.
